Yes the range is Gluten free. Gluten is the insoluble protein constituent of wheat. People with Coeliac Disease, a metabolic disorder have an inability to hydrolyze peptides contained in Gluten.
Sustagen Hospital can be used only as an occasional meal replacement under the advice of a doctor.
Sustagen is a nutritional supplement and can be taken safely during pregnancy when nutritional intake maybe poor. Any dietary intake should be taken after consultation with a healthcare professional. If Sustagen is indicated it should always be prepared fresh and hygienically. Pregnant women need to be diligent and ensure they are not taking excess of any particular vitamin by accounting for all sources of intake including supplements, multivitamins and food intake.
Firstly it is important to determine what type of vegatarian is referred to. As Sustagen is milk based it is only suitable for vegatarians who consumer dairy products as part of their diet (eg. Non red meat eaters, Lacto-ovo and Lacto vegatarians). It is not suitable for non-diary vegatarians (eg. Ovo vegatarians or vegans).
