It is not uncommon to experience some difficulty eating in the first few weeks after receiving a new set of dentures. Advice is often given to modify the size and texture of food and to chew more slowly until you and your mouth adjust to the dentures.

Before having dentures fitted there may also be a time where eating is more difficult due to missing teeth or pain when eating.
